PEEK grade for injection moulding and extrusion

German chemicals company Evonik Industries (Essen; www.evonik.com) has announced the addition of a high-viscosity material grade for injection moulding and extrusion to its already existing product range of high-performance polyether ether ketone (PEEK) products.
“Vestakeep 4500 G” is said to simplify processing during extrusion due to its high melt stiffness. The material also offers shorter cycle times for injection moulding thanks to rapid crystallisation, and the products display good dimensional stability, the suppler noted, adding that the PEEK grade offers improved elongation at break.
