“Vestamid” range extended with introduction of reinforced PPA / Automotive applications
A glass fibre reinforced PPA moulding compound with improved properties for automotive applications has been added to the “Vestamid” HTplus range from chemicals and plastics producer Evonik (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com).
Vestamid HTplus M1035 P1 has been developed for use in dynamically stressed casing components in the automotive industry, where mechanical properties including high burst pressure strength and the ability to withstand alternating stresses are essential. Good chemical resistance against corrosive media is also required. The material also demonstrates improved impact strength, the company said.
In addition to the material’s mechanical properties, users benefit from good flow behaviour resulting in the surface of the injection-moulded parts being smoother and defect-free.
