German diversified chemical group Evonik (Essen; www.evonik.com) has commissioned its new 40,000 t/y plant for the phthalate-free plasticiser 1,2-cyclohexa dicarboxylic acid diisononyl ester at the chemical park in Marl / Germany. The group said the investment was in the “double-digit million euro range.”
The plasticiser is sold under the “Elatur” brand name. In future, Evonik plans to launch a range of bio-based plasticisers under the same name. Negotiations with cooperation partners are said to be at the final stage.
