Expanding triacetonamine derivative capacity in China
In response to the steadily rising demand for triacetonamine derivatives (TAA derivatives), Evonik (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com) is expanding its TAA capacities in China. The company already produces TAA derivatives in a joint venture Evonik Tianda (Liaoyang) Chemical Additive Company, at Liaoyang / China.
Following its decision to expand TAA capacity, Evonik says its existing Chinese production facilities will be moved to the Aromatic Site, one of China’s largest petrochemical sites, adding that the foundation stone for the new plant could be laid this year already. Full production is expected to be reached in Q4 2011.
Evonik also manufactures TAA derivatives, essential intermediates for the production of hindered amine light stabilisers (HALT) – which in turn improve the properties of plastics exposed to intensive light radiation – at Marl Chemical Park / Germany.
