UK recycling organisation Recoup (Peterborough; www.recoup.org) is to assess the future of plastics recycling and the resource efficiency value chain at a new event, being held in April.
Entitled The Recoup Summit: The Challenge of Future Advancements, the gathering in the city of Leeds, in northern England, is to consist of focused breakout sessions in the morning, followed by a lunch and networking opportunities in the afternoon.
Recoup said topics to be considered in the breakout meetings will be the importance of understanding the role of data in the circular economy and how data collection can be used to advance a circular economy.
The role of technology in advancing recycling processes will explore the effects of chemical recycling and those technology shifts that are destined to transform the recycling industry, the organisation said.

A session on food-contact packaging will examine technology solutions and potential innovations for the future.
The summit is to be held at the Met Hotel in Leeds, on 30 April 2025.
In its latest UK Household Plastic Packaging Collection survey, published earlier in January, Recoup called for better communication for households on how plastic packaging waste can be prepared for recycling through kerbside collections.
