Plastics Recyclers Europe's (PRE, Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticsrecyclers.eu) annual meeting will be held on 21 and 22 November 2019 in Brussels. The main conference, titled "Design for recycling, where quality plastics recycling begins", will take place on 22 November. PRE working group meetings are to run on the first day of the event, when PET, HDPE/PP and LDPE sessions will be open to the public.
The second day will open with the European Commission's Carlo Pettinelli, who is director of Consumer, Environmental and Health Technologies for DG Internal Market, giving the keynote talk. Christian Guellerin (L'École de design Nantes Atlantique) and Kim Ragaert (University of Ghent) will participate in the introduction session, which will look at the EU approach and global trends in recyclability.
The remaining sessions are focused on different aspects of recyclability, including the role of value chain and design for recycling beyond packaging. A panel discussion will address the future of recyclability. There are confirmed speakers from Ampacet, Avery Dennison, Citeo, Constantia Flexibles, HP, Nestlé, Tarkett and Unilever, among others.
