“13th Latin America PET Markets, Applications & Recycling 2015” conference held in Mexico City
The “13th Latin America PET Markets, Applications & Recycling 2015” (LAPET) conference will take place from 20-22 October in Mexico City / Mexico. Addressing the entire PET value chain, the event – organised by the Center for Management Technology (CMT, Singapore; www.cmtevents.com) – will focus on how the high consumption of soft drinks and bottled water in Latin America will fare considering the fact that local economies are stagnating and crude oil and PET prices dropping. Providing insight into market dynamics, design innovations and sustainability trends, the two-day conference will address such issues as protection measures for inter-regional trade, and also showcase the experience of specific companies, such as PepsiCo and Evertis, among others.
Attendees have the option of booking a separate visit to the Aplura Milk & Dairy plant on 20 October, and also can add a separate half-day presentation to their schedule, focused on functional masterbatches and resins for the processing of polyester products.
A look at Plasteurope.com´s Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net) shows that total installed PET capacity in South America exceeds 1m t/y. Capacities in Mexico come to 1.3m t/y.
