Conference on “Bioresins: Current Research and Developments” to take place in Warwick in July
The Biocomposites subgroup of industry association Composites UK (Hemel Hempstead, Herts / UK; www.compositesuk.co.uk) is hosting a one-day event on “Bioresins: Current Research and Developments” (http://compositesuk.co.uk/events/bioresins-current-research-and-developments) at Warwick Manufacturing Group’s (WMG) International Digital Laboratory. Featuring a series of presentations, the conference – held on 2 July – will bring together researchers, material suppliers and end users interested in biocomposites.
The fourth event organised by the subgroup, this year’s meeting is the first to take a closer look at bioresins and aims to address questions about their cost, performance and supply. While a number of biobased resins are already used in composites production – including polylactic acid, polyhydroxybutyrate, polyfurfuryl alcohol as well as bio-based polyester and epoxy – uncertainties about these materials remain. Aside from a range of presentations, attendees will also have the option of touring WMG’s International Manufacturing Centre and Nanocomposites Laboratory.
