Second “Turk Kompozit” summit to be held in Istanbul in October
The “Second Summit and Forum for Turkish and Regional Composites Industry, Technology and Applications” – also known as “Turk Kompozit 2015” (www.turk-kompozit.org/2015/en) – will take place in Istanbul / Turkey from 8-10 October this year. The three-day event organised by the Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association (TCMA, Istanbul / Turkey; www.kompozit.org.tr) will include a number of technical and commercial seminars, product exhibitions, live demonstrations and awards. The first Turk Kompozit was held in 2013 and attracted 52 exhibitors from 7 countries, as well as 1,000 visitors from more than 20 different countries.
Market experts estimate that Turkey’s composites consumption is growing at 9-10% per year. The market is dominated by 150-200 mid-size to larger players, although according to estimates there are about 700-800 companies partially involved in the field. TCMA pegs current production levels at about 235,000 t/y.
