It is time to start thinking about participation in the 8th European edition of the "Thin Wall Packaging Conference", taking place in Cologne, Germany, from 3-5 December.

The annual event focuses on market trends and developments in plastics tubs, cups and tray packaging and is organised by the UK's Applied Market Information (AMI, Bristol; www.amiplastics.com)

Topics covered at the three-day conference include plastics packaging especially storage and functionality of plastics in protecting and preserving food, long-life applications, foaming technologies, natural fillers, advancement in regrind technology, sustainable production in terms of material. Energy and cost savings as well as further solutions in material savings are also on the scheduled agenda.

According to organiser AMI, the conference is relevant for all members of the supply chain including brand owners, retailers, packaging companies, food experts, researchers, test houses, materials and manufacturing experts. The Cologne event is sponsored by Illig, Borealis, Kuraray and Kortec this year.
