Equity increase cancelled as PVC business improves / New PVDC coating plant
Europe´s PVC market leader EVC Interntional NV (Strawinskylaan 1535, NL-1077 XX Amsterdam) has cancelled an equity increase planned for this year. The company said business has improved to the extent that investment in its core businesses of PVC manufacturing and in downstream expansion can be financed from cash flow. While the economic situation will be continue to be monitored, EVC said it appears that the improvement is lasting.
Meanwhile, subsidiary EVC Rigid Film GmbH (D-79268 Bötzingen) has started up a new EUR 10m PVDC coating plant for pharmaceutical films at Bötzingen. The company now claims to be the only European manufacturer in a position to offer both coated and uncoated rigid films for pharmaceutical and medical packaging. Worldwide, it says, every third blister package made of film is one of its products.
