The industry association for sheet moulding compounds (SMC) and bulk moulding compounds (BMC), the European Alliance for SMC BMC (Brussels / Belgium; www.smcbmc-europe.org), has elected new steering committee members. The chairman is Joan Montobbio (Menzolit), with Thomas Wegman (AOC) elected vice-chairman. Franck Gubler (Johns Manville), Markus Schiffmann (Polynt) and Paul Truffy (Owens Corning) make up the other members. The team will prepare for the “SMC BMC Design Award 2022” and for several events that will bring together SMC/BMC, designers and engineers.

The European Alliance for SMC BMC is a sectorial member of the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA, Brussels; www.eucia.org) and promotes SMC/BMC composite materials through making available design information to engineers and designers, connecting stakeholders in the supply chain and facilitating information exchange about these materials at seminars and exhibitions. Sheet moulding and bulk moulding compounds are used in the transportation, building, consumer and E&E sectors.
