The European Committee of Machinery Manufacturers for the Plastics and Rubber Industries Euromap (Frankfurt / Germany; www.euromap.org) has, published "recommendation 72" for the use of magnetic mould clamping systems on injection moulding machines with horizontal mould closing movement. This is intended to simplify the design, integration and everyday use of such systems for plastics converters. As usual, the recommendation identifies possible hazards for persons and equipment and identifies the responsibilities held by converters and manufacturers of the parts used in the overall system. In another recommendation (64), Euromap outlines warning signs to be placed on magnetic mould clamping systems.
