European recycling association appoints new secretary general

The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC, Brussels; www.euric-aisbl.eu) has announced that in April 2024, Julia Blees will take over from Emmanuel Katrakis as secretary general.
Katrakis, who held the post since EuRIC was founded in 2014, will depart at the end of March.
Blees has worked for EuRIC since 2018, managing the association’s paper and textiles branch while also handling international and legal affairs.
Olivier François, who created a branch for plastics recycling in 2019, will remain on as president of the association.
EuRIC has more than 5,500 member companies in Europe, and most recently reported combined sales of EUR 95 bn with a total workforce of 300,000.
