New stretch film line operating in Poland / Expansion plans for German subsidiary MKF
Plastics packaging company the Ergis Group (Warsaw / Poland; www.ergis.eu) has put a new line into operation for the production of stretch films at its plant in Oława / Poland, as announced earlier (see Plasteurope.com of 10.03.2017). With this capacity expansion for its "nanoErgis" films, the company is addressing consistently good demand.
With a growth of 26%, according to provisional figures, stretch films were the key sales driver in the first half of 2017. Total revenues increased by 6.6% to PLN 373m (EUR 87.3m), compared to H1 2016. EBITDA rose 1.4% to PLN 33.9m and net profit was boosted by 17% to PLN 16.4m. "In my estimation, results of the first half of 2017 are good, despite unprecedented increase of costs relating to payroll as well as raw materials and energy," says Tadeusz Nowicki, president of the management board at Ergis. Investments for further expansion are now focused on a new line for PET films and laminates production at its German subsidiary MKF-Ergis (Berlin; www.mkf-folien.eu).
