Polish plastics processor Ergis Group (Warsaw; www.ergis.eu) has recorded a 25% year-on-year increase in operating profit to PLN 31m (EUR 7.48m) in 2014, on sales down 1% at PLN 667m (EUR 159m). Net profit in the year reached a record PLN 18.7m, up 64%. The company said that the improved operating result was achieved despite adverse market developments in the third quarter of the last year, particularly in the food packaging sector.

The group is presently implementing a PLN 20m investment programme, including an additional line for flexographic print at its Flexergis division in Nowy Sacz, and a line for the production of PET tapes at its Olawa facility, both in Poland.
