EREMA
Specialist for recycling plants / Innovative solutions for new fields of application
Way above 1000 systems produced by Erema GmbH (PO Box 38, A-4052 Ansfelden/Linz), founded in 1983, are currently processing plastics waste of all types into granules and other secondary raw materials throughout the world. The company supplies a wide range of plants for plastics recycling, ranging from extruders, via melt pumps and through to laser filters. Sales of DEM 110m were achieved with these in the 1997/98 financial year. As a company spokeswoman explained, Erema´s inclusion in the list of Austria´s 1000 companies with the highest sales and the very good result achieved at K ´98 is prompting optimism.
Opening up new applications constitutes the main focus of the company´s activity. The most recent example is a “continuous agglomerator” which, according to the company magazine, will process even highly soiled thermoplastic mixtures with non-melting fractions into readily-flowing bulk goods. Over and above this, it can be used to homogenise similar types of plastic with different viscosities and to process thermally sensitive polymeric materials. A further new machine is a big system including the cutter/ compactor and extruder combination typical of Erema. At 2000 kg/h, its throughput capacity is twice that of the biggest model to date. A further highlight of the product range is the “inline recycling” plant for PET bottles. This processes PET bottles directly into flat film without external pre-drying or crystallisation and largely without shredding.
Apart from its series products, Erema also produces customised solutions. Free-of-charge test runs in Erema´s development plant provide the basic data necessary to develop a machine optimally tailored to the recycled material and customer profile in question.
