Glass filled PA grades offer faster cycle times / Low temperature process profile
Turkish high performance PA compounds producer Epsan Plastic (Bursa; www.epsan.com.tr) has introduced “Eplamid” 6 XC and “Eplamid” 66 XC glass-filled grades with cycle times up to 30% faster than standard glass-filled compounds. The company said the materials also have a low temperature process profile and, despite their processing benefits, do not compromise on mechanical properties.
Epsan R&D manager Selen Sanli said the grades have been tested and confirmed by major tier-1 auto manufacturers prior to commercialising. “The tests have been a proof of both Eplamid 6 XC and Eplamid 66 XC materials have a very fast cycle time as well as process ability of 10°C to 15°C less than the standard grades in the market,” he added.
The company will participate at the “Fakuma” 2014 plastics processing trade fair from 14 to 18 October in Friedrichshafen / Germany (www.fakuma-messe.de), where it is planning to announce further product developments in addition to demonstrating the “Eplamid” XC grades.
