Injection moulding machinery manufacturer Engel (Schwertberg / Austria; www.engelglobal.com) has achieved record sales for the fifth year in a row. In fiscal 2018/19, revenues amounted to EUR 1.6 bn, said chief sales officer Christoph Steger at the “Media Day” in the run-up to the “Chinaplas” (www.chinaplasonline.com) plastics trade fair in Guangzhou, Guangdong / China. This was in line with the forecast made by Engel at the “Fakuma” (www.fakuma-messe.de) trade fair in autumn 2018. Sales grew by around 6% against the previous year’s EUR 1.51 bn.

Engel generated 54% of its revenues in Europe, 24% in the Americas and 21% in Asia, with the rest of the world making up the remaining share. At the end of March 2018, Engel had a staff of 6,900, with 960 of its employees in Asia.
