Injection moulding machinery manufacturer Engel (Schwertberg / Austria; www.engelglobal.com) is bringing together its sales and service branches in Scandinavia and Finland under the joint management of Jens-Thor Hansen. He has been appointed managing director of Engel Finland based in Helsinki, taking over from Pertti Salonen, who has left the Engel group. He also assumes overall responsibility for northern Europe. Hansen is a plastics technology engineer, and has worked at Engel since 2014, previously managing the sales and service subsidiaries in Solrød Strand / Denmark, and Jönköping / Sweden, as well as the sales office in Hobøl / Norway, near Oslo.
According to Engel, the rapidly growing medical technology sector as well as the automotive and technical injection moulding sectors, are of central importance in the northern Europe region.
At Engel UK's plant in Warwickshire, automation specialist Dave Rogers has joined as a new project manager. The increasing number of projects undertaken that involve complex supply and automation has prompted the company to hire a specialist. Rogers is responsible for the design and implementation of automated systems and cells at the UK site.
