Engel (Schwertberg / Austria; www.engelglobal.com) is to consolidate its North American manufacturing and shift all production to its York, Pennsylvania / USA facility. Manufacturing in Guelph, Ontario / Canada will cease. The company also plans to establish several new technical centres throughout North America over the next 18 months. It said that the realignment of manufacturing is in line with its strategy of a worldwide machine platform, accommodating a decrease in the North American market and resulting in the merging of production at one location. Engel’s facilities in the US, Canada and Mexico will continue to provide sales, service, spare parts, training and technology for the North American market.
