ENGEL
Tool making realigned / Mould production to cease at Schwertberg / New industry focus
In response to changing market demands and an increasing focus on industry-related activities, Engel (Schwertberg / Austria; www.engelglobal.com) is to realign its tool making division. The reorganisation is based on both technical and business considerations and will involve the discontinuation of mould production at the company’s Schwertberg facility. Instead, Engel is to outsource production through establishing "strategic technology partners" in relevant application sectors with an emphasis on mould project planning and the ability to respond more flexibly to customer requirements.
The company’s focus will shift away from automotive and two-component applications towards large-scale moulds and moulds for a variety of industries and applications. Engel says that it will retain its mould building employees, who will work in new and technologically challenging areas in machine construction and mould project planning.
