ENGEL
Affiliated Austrian companies under one roof / New: Engel Austria GmbH
Plastics machinery specialist Engel officially completed the merger of its affiliated companies and changed its name to Engel Austria GmbH (A-4311 Schwertberg; www.engel.at) in mid-January of this year. In future, the affiliated companies Engel Vertriebsgesellschaft m.b.H., of Schwertberg, Engel Maschinenbau of Schwertberg with its three production facilities situated in Schwertberg, St.Valentin and Steyr and Engel Automatisierungstechnik of Dietach will be conducting their business under one roof.
The harmonisation was backdated to 1 April 2002, therefore all organisational changes will affect the company´s complete fiscal year of 2002/2003. The new corporation will retain the traditional Engel headquarters at Schwertberg and all its production sites. The tried-and-tested team of four directors from the individual member companies with Dr. Peter Neumann as spokesperson will remain in place at Engel Austria GmbH.
With this new corporate structure, Engel is strengthening “its overall competence as an innovative supplier of complete systems for efficient injection moulding processes from individual injection moulding machines to complete, all-automatic production units.” By relieving all processes from the drawbacks of internal administration procedures, the new corporation has created a more efficient production environment. The structural changes are also a result of the company´s new alignment in the wake of the recent flood disaster. Reconstructing the infrastructure following damages to the plant for small and medium-sized machines in Schwertberg has led to an intense co-operation in production processes with the plant for large machines in St.Valentin, the automation technology facilities in Dietach and the materials technology specialists in Steyr.
Following the already established structures of its production facilities in the US, Canada and Korea, Engel has now become a global player with a harmonised corporate structure in production, sales and service. As parent company of all European sales and service branches, Engel Austria GmbH will be increasing its nominal capital from EUR 2m to EUR 20m, effective from 1st April 2003.
