ELOPAK
Selling stake in South African drinks packaging joint venture to Nampak
Norwegian packaging group Elopak (Skøyen; www.elopak.com) says it has reached an agreement to sell its 50% stake in its Elopak South Africa joint venture to the Liquid Packaging division of its jv partner Nampak (Sandton / South Africa; www.nampak.co.za). The deal, which sources have valued at about EUR 10m, includes the license for “Pure-Pak” cartons. The relevant competition and regulatory authorities still have to give the final go-ahead.

The move will see Elopak leave the South African market. The Norwegian group had set up Elopak South Africa with Nampak in 1999.
