Elix Polymers' (Tarragona / Spain; www.elix-polymers.com) board of directors has appointed David Castañeda as CEO and board member. He takes over from Wolfgang Doering, who stepped down at the end of March 2019. Castañeda has more than 15 years of experience in the plastics and chemicals industries, having held senior management positions in operations, technology, innovation and business development.

Chinese conglomerate Sinochem (Beijing; www.sinochem.com) completed its acquisition of Elix Polymers at the beginning of 2019 – see Plasteurope.com of 14.01.2019. "We will work together to establish a global footprint under Sinochem ownership, implementing our ambitious growth plans as well as the strategic development of the company," said Castañeda.
