Elix Polymers (Tarragona / Spain; www.elix-polymers.com) has introduced a food-contact grade of ABS, which additionally offers toughness and resistance to high temperatures, to its healthcare range. The company said target applications include kitchenware, products for preparation and storage of food, and toys.

"M545TF" has been tested with different food stimulants, enabling Elix to advise its customers about migration issues and regulatory compliance during the product design phase. It can be supplied pre-coloured using the company’s portfolio of FDA-approved colours, which includes more than 120 active recipes. Additional colours are under development.
