ELF ATOCHEM
Agreement: Kynar 500 PVDF trademark
Since November 1st, the trademark Kynar 500 has reverted exclusively to Elf Atochem (La Défense 10, F-92091 Paris-La-Défense). So the agreement between Elf Atochem North America Inc and Ausimont USA Inc to share this trademark has ended. The sharing resulted from a 1990 Federal Trade Commission consent decree when Atochem acquired Pennwalt Inc.
Kynar 500, a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), has been produced at Elf Atochem's Calvert city plant since 1965. The product is adapted to the paint finish for aluminium or galvanized steel in monumental structures, airports and sports stadium worldwide (in the Riyadh airport for example). It offers excellent performances in terms of ageing and corrosion resistance, long colour life and fade resistance.
