USD 80m contract to supply Boeing with structural components / Israeli company focused on design and production of composites
Israeli defence company Elbit Systems (Haifa; www.elbitsystems.com) has been awarded a USD 80m deal to supply Boeing (Seattle, Washington / USA; www.boeing.com) with structural components. The contract was assigned to Elbit subsidiary Cyclone and will be performed over a period of seven years. Commenting on the agreement, Yoram Shmuely, co-general manager of Elbit System’ Aerospace division, said, “This contract represents another step in positioning Cyclone as a major supplier to leading aerospace companies and other customers.”

The contract is the latest in a string of other deals between the two groups. In 2006, Elbit was awarded a USD 19m deal to supply Boeing with structural components, and in 2008 the Israeli company signed a USD 31m arrangement to provide F15 components to the US aerospace company.

Elbit Systems’ aerostructures capacities include the design, development and production of advanced composite assemblies and components, earmarked for customers across the entire aviation sector. Its portfolio encompasses primary and secondary composite and metal structures such as pressurised and non-pressurised doors, control surfaces, composite beams and pylons, among others.
