DUO PLAST
Extra slim PE stretch film launched / Suitable for wrapping pallets
German films producer Duo Plast (Lauterbach; www.duo-plast.de) has launched a new and thinner PE stretch film for pallet packaging. Managing director Christian Rohm said the company had managed to extrude an 8 micron film in its plants for the first time. It already markets a 10 micron stretch film under the name DUO X10.

Despite a further reduction in thickness, Duo Plast said the DUO XS film has a high elasticity in processing, making it suitable for use in internal transportation and for protection against dust and moisture. The film can be used on semi-automatic wrapping machines with a mechanical brake or applied by hand. The company added that the extra-thin stretch film reduces waste disposal costs, does not contain the adhesive polyisobutene and is easily recyclable.
