Atul Thakrar became the new head of Royal DSM’s (Heerlen / The Netherlands; www.dsm.com) Bio-based Products & Services unit on 1 July. He succeeds Anton Robek, who was first appointed to the position in 2011, and whose future role will be announced “in due course.”

In his new capacity, Thakrar will also hold a board position at Reverdia (Geleen / The Netherlands; www.reverdia.com), DSM’s sustainable succinic acid joint venture with Roquette Frères – see also Plasteurope.com of 04.04.2015. Thakrar most recently served as president and CEO of Segetis (Golden Valley, Minnesota / USA; www.segetis.com). As head of DSM’s Bio-based Products & Services business, he will be reporting directly to DSM chief innovation officer Rob van Leen.
