Halogen-free “Stanyl” grades introduced for electronics applications / Focus on miniaturisation
DSM Engineering Plastics (Sittard / The Netherlands; www.dsm.com) has introduced a series of halogen-free flame retardant “Stanyl” compounds for the electronics market. “Stanyl” SC50 and MC50 have been developed for use in the manufacture of connectors, sockets and electronic components and provide high toughness and flow with more reliable and trouble-free processability, DSM said.
The company said the materials aim to address increasing demand for miniaturisation and integration of electronic products and show improved performance over conventional high temperature PA halogen-free materials, such as much higher flow, thin wall strength and glow wire ignition temperature of components.
