High performance fibres producer DSM Dyneema (Urmond / The Netherlands; www.dyneema.com) has opened an Asia-Pacific technical centre in Singapore. The 2,500m² facility, the company’s first in the region, will support customers of “Dyneema” UHMW-PE fibre and reinforce the brand across several applications, including life protection, commercial marine, industrial, sports and new business development initiatives in the region.

In addition to traditional materials testing capabilities, the centre houses Singapore’s first independent ballistics testing facility, featuring two ballistic ranges, as well as labs for conducting tests for both personal and vehicle armour applications for “Dyneema”. Tests can be carried out in accordance with international and regional ballistics standards, the company said.
