German automotive supplier Dräxlmaier (Vilsbiburg; www.draexlmaier.com) has set up a third plant in Balti / Moldova for manufacturing wiring harnesses. According to administration at the special economic zone there, the production facility is scheduled to begin operations in autumn 2017. During production at full capacity, 2,500 employees are to be employed. Dräxlmaier had started construction of the new plant in the spring of 2016. A good EUR 30m was invested in the 2,500 m² hall.

The company has been running an auto wiring harness production facility in Balti since 2009 for BMW (see Plasteurope.com of 18.04.2007). A first expansion then followed in 2011.
