Kristan Soto selected as new MD of German subsidiary

With effect from 1 October 2024, Kristan Soto took over as managing director of Dow Olefinverbund (Schkopau, Gemany; www.dow.com) in charge of the company’s sites in Schkopau, Böhlen, Leuna, and Teutschenthal.
Her predecessor, Carlo de Smet, who has now moved to the group’s Dutch plant in Terneuzen, took charge of Böhlen and Teutschenthal in 2019. His responsibilities were then expanded in 2022 when he was named MD of Dow Olefinverbund.
Soto kicked off her career at the group in 1996 as a process engineer in Freeport, Texas, USA. She moved through various positions at Dow sites in North America before being called to Europe for four years in 2002. Her most recent position was as environment, safety, and health director of Dow’s Great Lakes Hub, which covers 10 facilities.
