Dow said the new material is aimed at carpet tile backing manufacturing. It provides dimensional stability and adhesion support for fibers, while achieving the same performance as virgin petrochemical products.
The company noted that the product helps customers meet sustainability goals by utilising bio-circular feedstocks produced from residues of biological origin and responsibly sourced waste such as used cooling oil. The result is a product with a lower carbon footprint.
Engage REN resins made from bio-circular feedstocks are ISCC Plus certified under a mass balance approach for chain of custody, the company added.
