Dow Chemical (Midland, Michigan / USA; www.dow.com) has joined forces with 3A Composite Core Materials (Sins / Switzerland; www.3acomposites.com ) to market advanced core material solutions to the wind energy sector for use in rotorblades. The Swiss company will offer customised products and solutions globally with local service, while the US chemical group will supply the technology.

Jon Penrice, global business director at Dow Formulated Systems, said the new technology builds on Dow’s existing portfolio of infusion resins and durable adhesives that will help the wind industry improve productivity and reliability. Both companies are currently exhibiting at the “JEC Europe 2013 Composites Exhibition” in Paris / France.
