DOW CHEMICAL
Foam cell promoter introduced for display materials
Dow Chemical (Midland, Michigan / USA; www.dow.com) said its plastics additives business has added a foam cell promoter to its “Surecel” line of additives for foam PVC applications. Developed specifically for European customers, Surecel 445 is a high efficiency acrylic processing aid designed for display materials such as advertising boards and exhibition stands, the group said.

“For those operating in high-end display material, Surecel 445 helps create a fine cell structure resulting in a very smooth and even surface which enhances the quality of laser jet printing techniques,” said Robin Madgwick, European marketing manager for Dow Plastic Additives (www.dow.com/additives).

The material can also be used in the manufacture of profiles to help minimise faults and voids within cross-sections.
