DOMO
Domo Polypropylene joint venture changes name to Ducor Petrochemicals / Carmel takeover not yet finalised
On 1 July 2011, Domo Polypropylene (Rozenburg / The Netherlands) – a joint venture between Belgium's Domo Group (Oudenaarde; www.domogroup.com) and Israel's Carmel Olefins (Haifa; www.carmel-olefins.co.il) – officially changed its name to Ducor Petrochemicals (www.ducorchem.com). The jv’s product group will change name accordingly, from “Domolen” to “Ducor”.
Speaking to Plasteurope.com, a company spokesman emphasised that aside from the name change, all would remain as is. He added that the name change was supposed to clearly differentiate the old-new company from Domo’s polyamide business, clarifying that the move in no way signified the final takeover by Carmel, scheduled for early 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 08.09.2010.
