Film stretching facility opened near Guangzhou / First “Mesim” line delivered to Japan
DMT Technology (Salzburg / Austria; www.dmt-biax.com), which produces film-stretching lines, has opened a new production site in Huadu, near Guangzhou / China in late July. Jacques Aguilera has been appointed to manage the 5,000 m² facility where 60 employees will assemble plants from European components for the Chinese market. The company, which has had a sales office in Guangzhou since 2004, expects the new facility to speed up delivery of turnkey facilities in China.
DMT previously had 190 employees at two sites in Austria and in France and China. Sales were around EUR 700m in 2007 and managing director Wolfgang Pinegger expects this to double in 2008. According to reports in the Austrian media, orders on hand currently total over EUR 200m. The company recently announced that the first “Mesim” line based on the mechanical simultaneous stretching process for LCD film unveiled at "K 2007" has been delivered to Japan.
