DELTA KUNSTSTOFFE
Coperion twin extruder enables production of electrically conductive polymer compounds
German customised compounds producer Delta Kunststoffe (Weeze; www.delta-kunststoffe.de) has added a new conductive polymer line using a ZSK MEGAvolume PLUS twin screw extruder from compounding systems specialist Coperion (Stuttgart / Germany; www.coperion.com). The machine allows the Weeze-based group to produce electrically conductive polymer compounds by mixing conductive carbon black into the polymer melt. Delta processes PP, PE, PS and PA 6 on the new line, which can turn out compounds with a carbon black content of between 15-40% at a rate of 1,000-1,500 kg/hour.

Equipped with 76 mm diameter screws, the ZSK MEGAvolume PLUS minimises product shear and ensures a uniform distribution of carbon black thanks to special mixing elements. Delta Kunststoffe has been operating the new line since August last year.
