Brazilian food packaging company acquired by Sealed Air
US protective packaging manufacturer Sealed Air (Charlotte, North Carolina; www.sealedair.com) has announced its acquisition of Deltaplam Embalagens Indústria e Comércio (Londrina / Brazil; www.deltaplam.com.br), a family-owned Brazilian flexible packaging manufacturer. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Deltaplam produces recyclable, high-barrier (gas, light, grease) shrinkable plastic bags, multilayer coextruded films, laminates (metallised) and pouches (stand-up), using "top" extrusion technology. The company has more than 100 employees.
According to Sealed Air, it has had a presence in Brazil for more than 55 years. The US company employs more than 3,400 people in Latin America.
