Speciality chemicals company Degussa (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.degussa.com) is to invest around USD 10m in the construction of a production plant for “Rohacell” rigid polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam at its US-site in Mobile, Alabama. The unit is scheduled to commence operation in mid-2008.
Degussa subsidiary Inspec Foams (Allen, Texas / USA) will operate the plant to quality standards matching Degussa's only existing PMI foam unit, in Darmstadt / Germany. The company said that the facility will enhance customer service and reduce lead times in North America.
