Window and door systems: Takeover of the Alcoa subsidiary Dayton Technologies
Dayton Technologies Inc. (351 North Garver Road, Monroe, OH 45050 / USA), a subsidiary of the US company Alcoa (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA), is to be taken over by Deceuninck Plastics Industries NV (Bruggesteenweg 164, B-8830 Hooglede-Gits). Dayton Technologies is one of the largest extrusion companies in the field of plastic window and door systems in the USA. Alongside profile extrusion, Dayton also has an integrated department for compounding and manufacturing extrusion dies. The workforce numbers about 300 employees. Alcoa is the largest manufacturer of aluminium in the world with a turnover of USD 13bn.

Deceuninck – one of the major players in the industry in Europe – develops and manufactures plastic window and door systems as well as building profiles, and has distribution and production branches in most European countries. It achieved a turnover of about DEM 300m in 1996 and employs almost 900 people.
