DECEUNINCK
DEM 50m investment programme in 1998 / USA and E Europe the markets of the future
Deceuninck Plastics Industries N.V. (Bruggesteenweg 164, B-8830 Hooglede-Gits) is responding to the increase in business by expanding its premises. The company, which manufactures plastic window and door systems and also construction profiles, is investing DEM 50m in the construction of two new buildings at its main works. The smaller one (6,650m2) will extend the warehouse, while the bigger one (10,000 m2) will house surface-finishing plants. Construction is to be completed by the end of the year.
Deceuninck recorded sales of BEF 8.04 bn (5.87 bn) in 1997, equivalent to DEM 400m. Profits after tax rose to BEF 590m (464m). This strong growth in sales was due not least to the acquisition of Dayton Technologies Inc. (351 North Garver Road, Monroe, OH 45050 / USA) – one of the biggest extrusion companies in the USA in the field of plastics window and door systems. Deceuninck achieves a quarter of its overall sales on the US market and is intending to increase this share to 33% over the next few years. The second market pinpointed for the future is Eastern Europe, which is set to grow from 10 to 15%. A new extrusion plant is planned for Poland. Deceuninck currently has a payroll of 1160. A target of BEF 9bn has been set for sales in the current year.
