EUR 20m deal with Swift Frame window system producers in the UK / Acquisition of extrusion
The internationally-operating window and building profile manufacturer, Deceuninck NV (B-8830 Hooglede-Gits; www.deceuninck.com) has signed a deal running into millions with English window system producers Swift Frame Ltd. (Daley Close, Norwich, Norfolk NR3 2BU; www.swiftframe.co.uk) to run for a period of five years. Deceuninck will be supplying all the profiles in future and, at the same time, is acquiring Swift FrameĀ“s four extrusion lines. The value of the contract is put at more than EUR 20m. Swift Frame was prompted by the need to make more space for its window production. The company currently produces more than 2500 windows per week and achieved sales of some EUR 19m in 2000. Sales of EUR 29m are expected by the end of 2003.
According to a current announcement, the cooperation will strengthen the position of both companies on the UK window market. PVC windows have a market share of 83% in Great Britain. Deceuninck Ltd. (Calne, Wiltshire) will be supplying some 2000 t/y PVC profiles to Swift Frame in the context the deal, worth around EUR 4m per annum.
