DBI PLASTICS
Danish supplier benefits from e-mobility / Distribution centre in Poland nearing completion
While most suppliers are suffering from the weakness and changes in the automotive market, business appears to be running smoothly at DBI Plastics (Stenlille / Denmark; www.dbiplastics.com), which produces injection-moulded plastic caps and protective covers. At DKK 171m (EUR 22.9m), the company maintained its 2017 sales for 2018, and EBITDA rose 13% to DKK 30m. It said this increase is due to a surge in demand for solutions in the electrification of cars.

The Danish supplier invested in the expansion of distribution, foremost in China. In the coming years, it plans to strengthen sales in other parts of Asia as well as the Americas. The company also invested in European activities, building a 9,000 m² distribution centre at its Polish plant in Świdnica that is set to be completed in summer 2019. Assembly activities will also be moved to this location, clearing up additional production space at its main facility in Stenlille.
In addition to automotive, DBI Plastics’ other two business areas are machine and engineering. The company has plants in Denmark and Poland as well as sales and logistics locations in China, Europe and the US.
