CTP DAVALL
Start up of factory in Czech Republic
Production is getting underway at the Brno factory in the Czech Republic being established by UK technical moulder CTP Davall (Harthill, Shotts, GB-Lanarkshire ML7 5NT). Some injection moulding machines are now on site and it is hoped to have 12 models in production by April.
Such has been the level of interest in the facility, a 3,000 m² factory located on a business park being established by Flextronics International, that plans are being drawn up for a second plant. CTP Davall expects to put a proposal before the main board of Carclo Technical Plastics (GB-Wakefield WF1 1ZF; www.carclo-ctp.co.uk) in June. The second facility is likely to be a 4,000 square metre factory comprising two manufacturing cells: an injection moulding shop and an associated assembly plant producing components for customers such as Ford and General Motors.
A number of Czech recruits are being trained at CTP´s former Silleck site at Inchinnan, Scotland, from where 18 of the machines for Brno are being transferred.
