Commitment to boost capacity for amide slip additives / Multi-million dollar expansion
Speciality chemicals producer Croda (Goole / UK; www.croda.com) has announced a major investment for its Polymer Additives business with a commitment to a multi-million dollar capacity expansion at its Hull / UK site. Hull is Croda’s global centre of excellence for the manufacture of amide slip additives for use in a wide range of polymers. The company purports to be the world’s largest supplier of amide technology for the plastics industry.

Commenting on the announcement, Mike Millington, vice president Croda Polymer Additives, said he was delighted that the go-ahead had been given to expand the business and invest in the development of new products and technologies. Recent investments at Hull have included a 2MW wind turbine that is helping to meet a substantial part of the site’s energy needs.
