Polymer materials manufacturer Covestro (Leverkusen / Germany; www.covestro.com) has appointed Sucheta Govil as chief commercial officer (CCO) with effect from 1 August 2019. The position is the last to be filled on its management board.

Govil will replace Markus Steilemann, who has continued to work as CCO in addition to his role as CEO since June 2018 – see Plasteurope.com of 13.04.2018. She will be responsible for the Polyurethanes, Polycarbonates and Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties business segments, also assuming board responsibility for the new central marketing, innovation management and commercial services as well as supply chain centres in the three major regions.

Govil has been working as a non-executive director at building products supplier Eurocell in London since 1 October 2018. She has previouly held leading marketing roles at companies that include DSM, AkzoNobel, PepsiCo and GlaxoSmithKline.
