Covestro (Leverkusen / Germany; www.covestro.com) has appointed Alfred Talke (Hürth / Germany; www.talke.com) as the logistic service provider for its Chempark in Dormagen / Germany, home among others to two TDI lines, the CO2-to-polyols "Dream Production" plant and from late 2018 onward, also an MDI facility.
The most comprehensive logistics outsourcing assignment awarded by Covestro has created 65 new jobs at Talke, which won the tender process that called for the structural and procedural integration of the logistics of five entities at the site that previously operated independently. In addition to warehouse management, the service provider is also in charge of the maintenance, receipt and storage of raw materials, the filling of finished solid and liquid goods in small- and large-scale solutions such as containers or waggons, as well as the transportation of packed and palletised products into warehouses located within the park. In addition, Talke is also in charge of "packaging logistics for a specific specialised domain."
